How Can Veneers Help Me?
Veneers address issues that detract from the cosmetic appearance of one or more teeth. Custom-made veneers might be right for you if you have:
Discolored teeth due to root canals, stubborn stains from tetracycline or other medications, exposure to excessive fluoride, or the presence of large resin cavity fillings that change the color of a tooth
- Worn down teeth
- Chipped or broken teeth
- Slightly misaligned, uneven or irregularly shaped
- Gaps between your teeth
What Can I Expect?
Veneers require a few visits to Leisure Dental. At the first visit, Dr. Haggerty will remove a small amount of tooth enamel from each tooth that will receive a veneer. Removing the enamel creates enough space for the thin veneer shell. Dr. Haggerty will make an impression of your teeth to send to a laboratory, where technicians use the mold to create the veneers that fit your teeth and mouth perfectly.
When your veneers are ready, you will return to Leisure Dental. During this appointment, Dr. Haggerty will use special cement to bond the veneers to your teeth. Our dentist will then apply a special light beam to the veneer; the light activates chemical reactions that harden the cement. Dr. Haggerty will then remove any excess bonding material, evaluate how well your teeth meet up when you bite down and make any final adjustments necessary to the veneers. We may ask you to return for a follow-up visit within two weeks of placing the veneers.
